A Brewerton man has been charged with arson in connection with a Sept. 8 fire in the town of Pompey.
Charles R. He was charged with third-degree arson, a class C felony, and third-degree burglary, a class D felony, this morning.
The owner of the garaged called in the fire at around 3:10 a.m. Sept. 8 after someone passing by brought it to his attention, deputies said. Firefighters from Manlius, Minoa, Cazenovia, Pompey and Delphi responded to the scene to find the garage completely engulfed in flames, deputies said, and it took close to an hour for them to put it out.
Onondaga County fire investigators determined later that day that the fire, which also destroyed two vehicles that were parked inside the garage, was intentionally set from inside.
