A Manlius man was killed last week in an accident involving a drunk driver.
Brian R. Cook, of Manlius, was preparing to change a flat tire at around 2:45 a.m. July 6 in the town of Truxton when he was struck by a vehicle driven by Derek R. Manwarren, New York State Police said.
An investigation found Manwarren to be driving intoxicated, north on State Route 13, when his vehicle rear-ended a vehicle and continued on, striking a second vehicle and also colliding with Cook, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Manwarren, 21, of Truxton, is charged with driving while intoxicated and second-degree vehicular manslaughter. He was arraigned in town of Preble court and remanded to Cortland County jail in lieu of $50,000 cash or $100,000 bail bond.
