The Camillus Erie Canal Park, 5750 DeVoe Road, will host its second annual Dog Show on National Trails Day, Sunday, June 3.
“It is an opportunity for owners and their dogs to socialize in a beautiful setting, to become acquainted with various trails and activities and learn about organizations that assist animals,” said Liz Beebe, who runs the park with her husband, Dave. “We have so many dog owners that take advantage of our facilities, we thought it would be appropriate to acknowledge their presence with a fun event.”
The Beebes are encouraging residents to bring their dogs to be entered in the dog show, where canines will be judged in the categories of funniest, most talented, closest resemblance to owner, most obedient, best groomed and best dressed. Prizes will be awarded. The show starts at 1 p.m.
Visitors to the park can also visit the Sims Museum and take a boat ride with their pets. Boat rides will take place every hour from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults, $1.50 for kids 5-12, and free for kids under 5.
