The fireworks will fly in Camillus this weekend.
Faced with a tight budget, Mayor Patricia Butler and village treasurer Sharon Norcross made the appeal to local businesses to fund the fireworks. Otherwise, the annual Memorial Day parade and weekend-long celebration would have been without the night show.
But 18 businesses donated a total of $2,000 for the fireworks show to be held between 9 and 9:30 p.m. Saturday, May 26.
The fireworks will be part of the carnival that starts Friday, May 25 and ends with the Memorial Day celebrations Monday, May 28. The parade is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. in the village, with a ceremony at the Senior Center after.
The rides and carnival will be at Munro Park. For more information, or to volunteer at the carnival, contact village hall at 672-3484.
