Central New York will see an additional $29.7 million for road and bridge work.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Tuesday the funds would be made available for 15 NY Works projects across Onondaga and Madison Counties. The projects will fix deteriorating bridges and roads and create jobs for local job-seekers.
“The New York Works Program is not only an investment to improve the safety of the roads and bridges in our community but these significant transportation projects will aid in our state’s economic recovery,” said Assemblyman William Magnarelli.
The funds will be sent to “expedite” projects, looking to create new jobs and address the deficient roadways and bridges.
The projects locally to receive funding are:
City of Syracuse
West Adams Street over Onondaga Creek – $468,600 for a deck replacement
Interstate-81 over Calthrop Avenue – $1,517,625 for a deck replacement
Interstate-81 over Castle Street – $1,565,550 for a deck replacement
Interstate-690 east over Crouse Avenue – $649,650 for a deck replacement
Interstate-690 west over Crouse Avenue – $649,650 for a deck replacement
Interstate-690 over Peat Street – $963,825 for a deck replacement
Town of Lysander
Route 370 over Seneca River – $3,195,000 for a deck replacement
Town of DeWitt
Interstate-481 – $1,065,000 for a deck replacement
Interstate-481 south over Kirkville Road – $958,500 for bridge rehabilitation
Interstate-481 north over Kirkville Road – $958,500 for bridge rehabilitation
Town of Camillus
Route 174 over Nine Mile Creek – $532,500 for a deck replacement
Town of Cazenovia
Route 13 from Cazenovia to New Woodstock – $600,348 for pavement preservation treatments
Towns of Manlius and DeWitt
Route 290 (Bridge Street) from North Burdick Street to Route 5 – $428,960 pavement preservation treatment
Villages of Elbridge and Jordan
Route 317 in the village of Elbridge to the old Route 31C in the village of Jordan – $370,000 for pavement preservation treatments
Town of Manlius
Route 173 from the village of Manlius line to the Madison County/town of Sullivan line – $269,280 for pavement preservation treatments
