When bowling rivals Cicero-North Syracuse and Liverpool got together again last Tuesday at Strike-N-Spare Lanes, the Northstars won on both sides.
The boys match was a 3-0 Northstars sweep, with Chrys Reith putting together a 716 series and a 267 high game. Jacob Patterson added a 245 game in his 659 set. Alex DiGenero led the Warriors with a 652 series.
Meanwhile, the C-NS girls pulled out a 2-1 win, overcoming the work of Liverpool’s Mary Townley, who shot a 665 series that included a high game of 258. Tori Loysen led the Northstars with a 543 set and Beth Piston added a three-game total of 500.
Liverpool came back home to Flamingo Bowl Thursday and lost both sets of a 3-0 match to Baldwinsville – but in doing so, Townley set a Section III record with a three-game total of 792, which included a 268 high game.
And the boys match featured drama, too, as B’ville’s Ryan Zbikowski came within one pin of a perfect game, but settled for 299 on his way to a 715 set. In defeat, the Warriors’ DiGenero shot a 265 on his way to a 610 series, with Cody Generous adding a 561 set.
Meanwhile, at Strike-N-Spare (where the Section III tournament takes place this Saturday), the C-NS girls beat West Genesee 3-0 as Josie Heckman managed a 570 series and Jordyn Naylor added a 560 set. The boys Northstars lost, 2-1, to the Wildcats.
