Sally Lisi, principal of Immaculate Conception School in Fayetteville, sees her students as “God’s blessings upon us.” This year, quite a few of those blessings have come in sets of two or three.
IC welcomed nine sets of twins, and one set of triplets, into its halls on the first day of school Wednesday, Sept. 7. Of IC’s 276 enrolled students, 21 are either twins or triplets.
“I think they’re really special,” Lisi said. “It’s great having them, and it’s a unique situation to have so many of them.
The triplets, entering pre-k at IC, are: McKenzie, Connor and Madison Romocki, of Fayetteville.
Five sets of twins are also new to the school. They are: Annaliese and Colden Yarah, of Fayetteville; Fielding and Emmeline Reinhard, of Manlius; Alex and Aiden Stuttard, of Fayetteville; Tavish and Samuel Johnston, of Jamesville; and Patrick and Ryan Grady, of Fayetteville.
Twins returning to IC are Carter and Kevin Stewart, of East Syracuse; Talia and Isabella Canizzo, of Manlius; Nicholas and Christopher Zellar, of North Syracuse; and Ainoa and Iker Perez, of East Syracuse.
Lisi recognizes that the twins and triplets are individuals with unique personalities.
“But it’s great to watch them take care of each other and look out for one another,” she said.
Lisi, now in her 11th year as principal of IC, said she’s never seen anything quite like this at the school. She said IC has no ceremony planned, but the twins and triplets have gotten together for multiple photo opportunities.
“We’re just enjoying it,” she said. “They are, too.”
