Skaneateles girls track and field athletes Gabby Eckles and Caroline Walton both headed to Caledonia-Mumford High School for the New York State Public High School Athletic Association meet.
And Eckles would have a strong showing in the Division II (small school) high jump on Saturday. Eckles cleared 5 feet 2 inches, tying for fifth place. Schuylerville’s Sarah Palmer won the Division II side, clearing 5 feet 5 inches, and Kaitlin Whitehorn (John Glenn) was the overall champion with a clearance of 5 feet 7 inches.
Meanwhile, Walton competed in the Division II shot put, where she claimed 11th place with a top throw of 33 feet 7 inches. Uzoamaka Aniagaba (Valley Stream North) won the event with a toss of 41 feet 1/4 inch.
