Cazenovia High School senior Tori Widrick was the only Central New York player named to USA Field Hockey’s Futures Elite program.
Widrick’s selection came out of tryouts during the USA Field Hockey Futures Nationals, held last June in Virginia Beach, Va. In all, 150 girls were selected in the Under-14, Under-16 and Under-19 groups, 14 from New York, and Widrick, just 16, was a U-19 selection.
This was part of a busy and active summer for Widrick, who also played with the Central region scholastic team at the Empire State Games in Buffalo in July.

It exists to provide additional training and competition opportunities for athletes identified with the potential to someday represent the United States. Junior High Performance athletes will have the opportunity to sharpen their hockey skills at an elite level with the best coaches in the country.
