The town board held a public hearing Thursday June 17 to discuss “Introductory Local Law 2010-C, “Cold War Veterans Tax Exemption Local Law.” The law had been approved by the town once earlier but underwent changes since.
The updated law raised the limit for tax exemption for Cold War veterans from $12,000 to $36,000. The proposed law was approved by the board.
Public hearings July 15
The board scheduled public hearings at 7:15 p.m. July 15 to discuss Introductory Local Law 2010-D and –E titled “2010 Local Law Electing a Retirement Incentive for the Town of Skaneateles.” Governor Patterson recently approved the law, which includes retirement incentives for town employees. Budget Officer Bridgett Winkelman said the incentives would be available to all municipalities, but only if the town approved the law. “We do have a few employees that might want to take advantage of them,” she said to the board.
