Julie Bilinski returns home to surprise renovations

When Julie Bilinski was released from the hospital one week ago, she didn’t go home. Instead, she spent a week in a hotel, waiting for crews to finish what she believed were modifications to her Brutus home to make it wheelchair accessible.

Bilinski, who runs the Millstone Restaurant and Bar at the Millstone Golf Course in Elbridge, was paralyzed from the waist down in a March 13 car crash on her way home from work.

While hospitalized, work began on her house to make sure it would allow easy access for her wheelchair when she returned home. But as family, friends and restaurant patrons began to volunteer to help, and donations began pouring in, it wasn’t long before a total renovation project began on the home.

Bilinski returned home this afternoon to a completely updated and renovated home – all completed through the donated time and effort of community members and local contractors and builders.
