Last week the Greater Cazenovia Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a roundtable with about 20 different local non-profit groups in the hopes of increased collaboration and communication.
“A lot of people were asking, why didn’t we do this before?” said Chamber of Commerce President Ralph Monforte.
About 30 people attended the meeting at the Cazenovia Public Library community room April 1. Attendees were asked to present their organization, an important project or upcoming event and their website.
One representative suggested that groups coordinate their major fundraisers to avoid overlapping and too many groups asking too much of the community at the same time.
Because the gathering was so successful, Monforte said that it may be less than a year before the next roundtable.
