Howard Hanna Real Estate Services intends to put the “fun” in “fundraiser” with their Harvest of Hope benefit, set to take place at 3149 Sweet Rd. in Pompey from noon to 4 p.m on Sunday, May 19.
The proceeds for next week’s event will go toward Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital, a facility offering health care services for children from birth to 19 years of age.
In line with the Pittsburgh-based real estate firm’s annual fundraisers stretching back over 30 years, it will serve as the debut Howard Hanna Children’s Free Care Fund campaign in Central New York.
For each of the past three years, the company has raised $1 million through their fundraising efforts.
Heritage Hill Brewhouse & Kitchen, which overlooks the third-generation-owned Palladino Farms, will serve as the host for this year’s event.
“I think it’s a very unique venue,” Shauna Teelin, a licensed associate real estate broker with Howard Hanna, said. “They have a beautiful brewery, and the views are spectacular.”
She said the trail hits the highest point on Sweet Road—almost 2,000 feet above sea level—from which one can see Onondaga, Oneida and Ontario lakes.
The benefit will feature live music from area acoustic duo The Cadleys in addition to basket raffles, interaction with farm animals and more than 25 artisans and vendors selling merchandise.
“We’re looking forward to the event being something that you can bring kids to and not just a black-tie fundraiser,” Teelin said.
A 5K trail run through the countryside will also begin at noon rain or shine. The artisans, vendors, and entertainment will move indoors if need be.
“We’re hoping for a beautiful day and to have lots of folks both at the 5K and coming out for a fun day of celebrating hope and local family business,” Teelin said.
Single-person tickets for the event are $10. A ticket pack for a family of five costs $25.
The registration for the 5K ends at 11 a.m. the day of the event and runs at $25, a price that includes a T-shirt and entrance into the event.
