The Summit Federal Credit Union opens new branch in Camillus
New layout and technology replaces cash drawers and partitioned teller stations
The Summit Federal Credit Union celebrated the grand opening of its “branch of the future” at Township 5 in Camillus, outside Syracuse. It is the first such branch for The Summit, showcasing a fresh, member-centered design and new technology for superior service and a better experience for members. For the first time, individual teller towers have replaced partitioned stations and cash drawers, making for a more personal experience between members and tellers.
“The Summit’s purpose is to serve our members and to support their communities in an ever-changing financial world,” said Mike Vadala, The Summit’s President and CEO. “To further our commitment to the Syracuse area, we have built our most innovative branch to date in Camillus.”
The Summit’s Camillus branch is the most technologically-advanced of all The Summit’s eighteen branches. It appears on the exterior much like its newer branches; inside, however, is an unexpected combination of textures and open floor space that sets it apart from many financial institutions. Not merely cosmetic, these innovations, along with the use of new technology, are intended to help The Summit’s members with whatever they need, from credit cards to loans to investments, and make it easy for staff to help as well.
Advancements at The Summit’s Camillus branch include: The Summit’s first Teller Tower, which facilitates one-on-one member assistance by Summit staff, interactive technology for educating members about Summit products and services and enhanced digital marketing displays inside the branch.
On behalf of The Summit, Cheryl Pohlman, The Summit Vice President of Marketing and Business Development presented three Camillus-based charitable organizations with a combined check of $1,250. Carol M. Baldwain Breast Cancer Research Fund, Camillus Softball and Baseball Association and American Legion Post 1540 were honored for their selfless contribution to the community.
“The Summit has been a leader in financial circles but also a leader in supporting organizations and people in the communities that we serve,” said Cheryl. “We strongly believe in giving back to the communities that we do business in.” The Summit will also be sponsoring the upcoming Annual Fireworks Celebration at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Camillus on June 25th.
