SYRACUSE – Two weeks, two appearances for the Baldwinsville boys indoor track and field team – and two victories.
During Sunday’s afternoon session of the Oscar B. Jensen Memorial Relays at SRC Arena, the Bees earned 111 points to easily pull clear from second-place Marcellus, who had 71.5 points.
Jackson Creelman was victorious in the 55-meter hurdles, his 8.37 seconds part of a 1-2 effort with Logan Zapf, who was second in 8.67 as Jonah Offredi (9.85) also reached the top 10. Zapf added a third in in the triple jump with 39 feet 3 1/2 inches, ahead of Cooper Christman (35 feet) in ninth place.
In the 300-meter dash, Brandon Levin prevailed in 37.89 seconds as no one else broke the 39-second mark, also finishing fourth in the long jump with 19 feet 6 1/2 inches as Nathan Glidden (16’3 1/2″) was ninth.
Jack McAllister then won the 600-meter run in 1:27.33 sweeping the top spots with Logan Hayes (1:29.84) second and Brayden Bolton (1:36.34) fourth. And in the 3,200-meter run, Noah Covert and Ryan Wilson both finished in 10:17.02, but Covert was eight-thousandths of a second better to win it.
David Dobrowolski went 43’6″ in the shot put to win, Dimitri Ioannidis second in 37’11” and Gibson Boudov (36’7 3/4″) in fifth place. Grayson Brady, clearing 10’6″, beat out Kyle Sheckler (10 feet) as the pair were on top in the pole vault. Dobrowolski got third in the weight throw with 42 feet as Nick Foster was seventh in 37’4″.
Jeff Ragonese ran to second in the 1,000 meters in 2:50.12 beating out Zach Arria (2:52.48) in third place. Anthony Noda got third in the 55-meter dash in 6.92 as Kaleb Paul was fourth in 6.93 and Adam Aviles (7.21) was 10th.
Griffin Killian topped 5’2″ in the high jump to tie for third place. Jacob Guelli stepped up and took fourth at 1,600 meters in 4:59.44, just ahead of Logan Bolton (4:59.93) in fifth place.
Meanwhile, in the girls portion of the Jensen Relays, B’ville had 77.5 points, which beat everyone except Liverpool’s total of 94 points.
Kamryn Barton prevailed for the girls Bees in the 1,000 in 3:15.81, edging Tully’s Katie Edinger (3:16.64) as Adrianna Orlando finished fifth in 3:34.97 and Emilee Salzman was eighth in 3:47.53.
Madison Kennedy needed 1:46.95 to prevail in the 600 chased by, among others, Clare Horan, who was third in 1:51.42 as Kennedy added a third in the 300 in 44.75 seconds to edge Mia Pozzi (44.76) and Avamarie Davis (45.65).
Sydney McKenney won the pole vault, clearing 9’6″, and also was second in the high jump by topping 4’8″ as Kate DeFio was third in the pole vault with 6’6″.
Yolanda Wei grabbed second place in the 3,000-meter run in 11:46.55 as Lily Horan (13:41.26) was ninth. Julianna Gingrich threw the shot put 25’5 1/4″ to finish third.
Anaiya Johnson was third in the triple jump with 29’4 1/2″ and took sixth in the 55 hurdles in 10.48 seconds, with Olivia Bartlett sixth in the long jump going 13’9 1/4″. Sophia Cavalieri made her way to fifth place in the 1,500-meter run in 5:36.03 as Erin Seitzer finished 13th in 6:04.29. Paige Bohman was ninth in the weight throw with 23’9″.
