Crouse Hospital’s Spirit of Women program continues its journey to good health with two stress-free Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 10 and Sept. 14, at Fayetteville Free Library, 300 Orchard St., Fayetteville. These classes complete the “Passport to Relaxation Series” offered to encourage women and men to better care for their wellbeing.
The program is free to attend, but registration is required at crouse.org/relax or by calling 472-2464.
The Aug. 10 program, titled “Mindful Meditation,” will be led by board-certified physician Scott Treatman, DO, MHA, MPH, and licensed massage therapist Nicole Miller, MS, LMT. They will explain the differences in the eastern, western and integrative health models; explore the traditional Chinese medical model and its four pillars of movement, bodywork, nutrition and meditation; and basic meditation techniques will be reviewed.
The Sept. 14 program, “Qi Gong,” will be led by Katrin Naumann, MFA, E-RYT, VH, QGT, and licensed massage therapist Nicole Miller, MS, LMT. They will explore with participants the use of Qi Gong, pronounced chee gung, as a relaxation method to support your health, wellness, mind, body and spirit. They will also explain how the slow gentle movements of most Qi Gong forms can be easily adapted, even for the physically challenged and can be practiced by all age groups.
