The Cazenovia College Chorale celebrates the musical genius of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart at its spring performance at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, at the Cazenovia Methodist Church. The chorale includes students and many individuals from the Cazenovia community, and will perform both sacred and secular choral pieces by the great composer. Selections range from his “Regina Coeli” (composed when Mozart was only 15) to the final chorus from his last opera, “Die Zauberflöte” (The Magic Flute).
As in past spring performances, the chorale will be accompanied by a small orchestra composed of musicians from Cazenovia and the broader Central New York area. Also joining the chorale will be guest soprano, Abigail Brockamp. The performance, directed by Peter Ciarelli with William Verity on piano, is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
