The dye will be cast on the Dinosaur Garden lawn the afternoon of Wednesday, Aug. 7.
Tie-Dye on the Lawn will allow patrons of all generations to create their own multi-colored masterpieces.
It will be the 19th year for the popular Liverpool Public Library event. The formula is simple. Bring one cotton item you’d like to look special. The library will provide patterns, instructions, rubber bands, setting solution and many bottles of dyes.
Staff members and volunteers will be ready to offer support and encouragement.
There’s no charge.
The event will run from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
In hopes of cutting down the long line that tends to form at the beginning of the program, a new staggered-arrival time is being suggested. If you can attend at the following times according to your last name, please do:
• S to Z, 1 to 1:30 p.m.
• J to R, 1:30 to 2 p.m.
• A to I, 2 to 2:30 p.m.
If that does not fit your schedule, come when you can. More dye and setting solution will mixed if needed until the end of the program.
It’s a good idea to wear clothes that you don’t mind if they get hit with a splash or two of dye. Mistakes do happen.
The rain date of the event is Thursday, Aug. 8, at the same time and place.
