ONONDAGA COUNTY – When the Baldiwnsville girls golf team travels to Rogues Roost for Tuesday’s Section III championships, it does so fully knowing how good the competition is in front of them.
Back on Monday, the Bees went to Green Lakes to face Fayetteville-Manlius Green and played quite well, yet still found itself falling to the Hornets 185-202.
Though it was closer than tha 178-209 match at Timber Banks on April 28, the Bees still saw Eva Pawelek’s 49 equaled by F-M Green’s Lucia Melfi and topped by Erin Graves (43), Bella Fullmer (45) and Lindsay Chong (47).
The rest of the Bees were quite consistent as the trio of Peyton Kowalski, Amelia Hahn and Hayley Rocker had matching totals of 51.
Now came a match Thursday against F-M’s younger White squad at Timber Banks, and again the Bees took a setback, this one by a score of 204-212.
Pawelek’s 49 tied for individual honors with the Hornets’ Georgia Perry and Claire Zerrillo, and Hahn’s 51 was equaled by Katherine Parmley as Kowalski had a 56 and Julia Quinn shot 57,
Meeting Cicero-North Syracuse Blue in Friday’s match at Lakeshore Country Club, B’ville again got a taste of why the Northstars were regular-season SCAC Metro division champions in a 181-218 defeat.
C-NS Blue, who had beaten Fayetteville-Manlius Green twice in the previous three days, swept the top four individual positions, led by Isabella Borte shooting a 40 in windy conditions ahead of Andrea Wheaton (46), Natalie Hacker (47) and Chloe Tice (48).
Reagan Doan stepped up and, with a 50, had the Bees’ low total. Quinn finished with a 55, just ahead of the 56 from Kowalski and 57 from Hahn.
