CHITTENANGO – Most of the area’s top high school track and field stars made their way to last Saturday’s Chittenango Invitational, where they earned plenty of top-five finishes.
West Genesee managed a fourth-place boys finish with 40.33 points as Cicero-North Syracuse (68.33) took the top spot, the Wildcats efforts including a victory in the 4×100 relay.
Dom Burris, Kev Scott, Chris Moser and Dominick Frost paired up and, in 43.65 seconds, was nearly two seconds ahead of the second-place 45.40 from Christian Brothers Academy.
Moser didn’t stop there, also winning the 400-meter dash in 50.11 seconds, more than two seconds clear of anyone else as Burris beat the field in the long jump, going 22 feet, and was third in the 100-meter dash in 11.28 seconds, with Kev Scott fourth in 11.32.
Peter McMahon finished seventh in the featured Fleet Feet Mile in 4:28.48, while James Mungro cleared 5’4” for sixth place in the high jump.
On the girls side for WG, Chloe Fietze impressed in her edition of the Fleet Feet Mile, the freshman’s time of 5:14.77 second only to the winning 5:06.44 of Fayetteville-Manlius’ Izzie Sullivan.

Fietze, Sarah Fettig, Claire Grififn and Lillianna Iacampo were third in the 4×400 in 4:25.25. Zoe Maupin finished third in the full-field mile in 5:37.87, while Mya Rufus took sixth in the 100 sprint in 13.10. WG was sixth in the 4×800 and Hayden Rothenberg was eighth in the triple jump.
Westhill had Ashley Bolesh roll to victory in the girls 400 hurdles, her time of 1:05.44 nearly five seconds clear of anyone else as
Then Owen Mulholland completed a girls/boys sweep of the 400 hurdles for Westhill, winning his event in 1:00.53 to edge the 1:00.65 from Irondequoit’s Jonathan Williams.
Carter Buckman cleared 10’6” for second place in the boys pole vault, while in the girls pole vault Mallie Alt topped 8 feet and finished third. Ava Baty get fourth in the girls 100 hurdles in 16.84 seconds. Emma Murphy was fifth in the triple jump with 32’6 3/4”.
Marcellus had Owen Alexander go 17.07 seconds in the 110 high hurdles and make his way to third place as teammate Lukas Greib was seventh in 17.68.
The Mustangs were fourth in the 4×400 relay in 3:41.08 as Nate Alexander was eighth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 11:22.18.Marcellus had Sophia Bianchi seventh and Madison Foy eighthin the 400 hurdles, with Corrine Aldrich sixth in the 400 sprint and Bailey Ellis seventh in the shot put.
Jordan-Elbridge saw Teagan Disinger finish fifth in the girls pentathlon with 1,650 points. Westhill’s Emma Marshall was seventh in the discus and Allison Langham eighth in the long jump.
