CENTRAL NEW YORK – Things went well for the Jamesville-DeWitt girls lacrosse team in the wake of its come-from-behind win at Fulton on April 11.
Exactly one week later, the Red Rams ripped its way past Oswego 19-5, outscoring the Buccaneers 12-2 in the second half after a somewhat inconsistent start.
Caroline Stone had five goals and two assists, with Margaret Bliss and Merris Kessler each scoring four times as Bliss got a career-best five assists and Kessler two assists. Brooke Bort and Campbell Endres had two goals apiece, with Laney Bort and Lauren Mills also finding the net.
An 18-6 win over Syracuse followed on Thursday night, J-D getting four goals from Kessler and three each from Stone, Bliss and Sadie Withers. Bort converted twice, Macy Durkin earning four assists as Endries and Alexis Scaramuzzino both had one goal and one assist.
In Saturday’s tough 13-10 win over Section II’s Saratoga Springs, J-D leaned heavily on Durkin, who burned the Blue Streaks for seven goals, more than half the Rams’ output.
Support came from Bort’s three goals and one assist and Stone’s two goals and two assists. Withers also had a goal as Lucy Keib made seven saves. Assists went to Endries, Bliss, Kessler and Ava Mone.
Fayetteville-Manlius battled West Genesee in the first of two regular-season showdowns last Monday at Mike Messere Field and took a tough 10-9 defeat to the Wildcats.

Christian Brothers Academy, recovering from its own 10-9 defeat to West Genesee April 15, beat Homer 15-6 last Tuesday as Maeve Mackenzie, with six goals, matched the Trojans’ entire output.
Lilah Kirch also excelled for the Brothers, scoring four times and adding an assist. Sydney Vaughn had two goals and one assist, with Mia Kirch getting a goal and four assists. Amelia Bonacci had one goal and two assists.
Against Watertown on Saturday afternoon, CBA lost a tense 9-8, double-overtime decision, unable to hold on to a 4-1 halftime lead as Alex Macutek, with four goals and three assists, led the comeback.
Mackenzie had three goals to lead the Brothers as Lilah Kirch scored twice. Bonacci again finished with one goal and two assists, Vaughn and Sadie Wichmann earning the other goals.
East Syracuse Minoa was still in search of its first win of the season, but didn’t get close to it last Tuesday during a 22-4 defeat to Fulton.
It was 14-1 by halftime, Fulton paced by Mya Carroll’s six goals and one assist along with Anna Bednarz’s four goals and four assists. Rylyn Commisso had three of the Spartans’ four goals and the other went to Sophia Ferns.
In Thursday’s 20-4 loss to Auburn, ESM had Mary Grace Godleski score twice, with Madison Wood and Morgan Purcell earning the other goals.The Maroons led 14-1 by halftime as Natalie Long led with five goals and one assist.
