ONONDAGA COUNTY – Dominant in its early-season matches, the Jamesville-DeWitt boys golf team looked to maintain that form, and did so in smaller-scale events.
The Red Rams went head-to-head with Central Square last Wednesday and rolled past the Redhawks 184-228 with more low rounds at Greenview Country Club.
Mitchell Archer and Jackson Saroney battled for low individual honors, and Archer’s 33 for nine holes beat out Saroney’s 34.
Three other J-D golfers – Sam Ahn, Trey Jacobson and Ian Delpha – all shot 39, and they beat out the low Central Square round of 40 by Matt Davis.
Fayetteville-Manlius Green made it four wins in a row on Sept. 2 at the Greens at Beaumont, rolling past Cicero-North Syracuse’s Green team 184-220.
Luke Weisiger went under par with a 33, beating out the trio of Anthony Ahn, Jack Antshel and Dan Stark, each of whom posted 38. Henry Will added a 39 and Tyler Burns tacked on a 40.
Elsewhere, F-M’s White team lost 210-225 to West Genesee Gold on Sept. 1 at Woodcrest. Parker Kaczorowski, with a 42, tied for second but was five shots behind the 37 from the Wildcats’ Ryan Till as Grant Rhyde had a 43 and Dylan Friedman a 44, beating out Turner Berry (47) and Charlie Lorraine (49).
In a 192-212 defeat to Liverpool at Foxfire last Wednesday, Friedman improved to a 41, with Kaczrowski and Rhyde both shooting 42, Lorraine getting a 44 and Adam Koss a 43. Owen Michaud (37) and Brady Michaud (38) led the Warriors.
Christian Brothers Academy continued to solidify its place atop the OHSL standings with a trio of wins, none bigger than topping Skaneateles 191-206 last Friday at Drumlins.
It was the Lakers providing the individual highlight thanks to Tyson DiRubbo, who on the par-5 eighth took a 170-yard shot and holed it for a rare double eagle.
Still, CBA swept the top four, led by Jack Gregory’s par round of 36. Emmet Kilmartin and Joe Papa both finished at 37 as Luke Snyder added a 39 ahead of the 40s by DiRubbo and Skaneatlees teammate Jack Marquardt.
Earlier in the week, CBA handled Tully 205-241 at Drumlins. Snyder and Dempsey Horan led the Brothers, each shooting 39, just ahead of Gregory’s 40. Rowen Lynch had a 43 as Papa and Scott Strait each shot 44.
In Thursday’s 199-244 victory over Phoenix, it was James Stanton putting up a 36 to lead CBA’s efforts. Liam White added a 38, with Emmet Kilmartin and Eric Lee both shooting 41 and Luke Petragnani getting a 43.
