SYRACUSE – The Cazenovia girls indoor track team scored 110 points to win the John Arcaro Memorial Invitational last Saturday at SRC Arena, outrunning Class AA powers West Genesee (93 points) and Baldwinsville (89.3 points) along with eight other teams for the win.
Cazenovia tapped into the depth of its roster and the versatility of its athletes to score in every event and win four of 16 despite entering the meet with gaps in its line-up due to COVID-19 quarantines.
Senior Captain Melanie Michael led the Lakers with scores in three events including an individual first-place finish in a State Qualifier eligible time of 9.58 seconds in the 55-meter hurdles. She combined with Caryn Gagnon (10.39) for first overall in the event in the relay-style scoring that combines the top two performances from each team.

Bonnie Pittman ran a season-best opening leg of 1:09.7 to combine with Maleigha Coffie, Maya Gilmore and Mehlbaum (1:08.3 anchor leg) to earn fourth in the 4×400 in 4:47.82.
