BALDWINSVILLE – Through four matches, the Baldwinsville girls bowling team remained perfect as it moved to the top of the Salt City Athletic Conference Metro division.
The Bees made it four in a row in Tuesday’s match against Auburn at B’ville Sports Bowl, comfortably earning a 3-0 shutout led this time by Amelia Ponto.
With games of 194, 234 and 190, Ponto picked up a 618 series, while Jenna Speich had a 546 series and 193 high game. Madison Hass also bowled three games, opening with a 191 followed by 170 and 178 in her 539 set.
Julia Spiech only bowled two games, but that included an opening 236 as Lauren Gulich had a 184 game and Elizabeth Hildreth had games of 181 and 182 and Samantha Hass, in her lone game, shot 201.
As this went on, B’ville’s boys lost to Auburn by that same 3-0 margin to drop to 2-2 on the season at the expense of the undefeated Maroons.
Alex Mautz still shot games of 221 and 220 in his 632 series, with Eric Barski notching lots of strikes in his 259 second game after he opened with 222 in a 621 series.
Auburn, though, had seven different games of 200 or better, with Lucas McConnell earning a 637 series ahead of the 630 set from Tyler Kraushaar as James Wike added a 602 series.
Big matches loomed for the Bees in the week leading up to Christmas against a trio of league rivals – Fayetteville-Manlius, Cicero-North Syracuse and West Genesee.
