ONONDAGA COUNTY – A full week of action separates the Liverpool and Cicero-North Syracuse boys volleyball teams from their highly-anticipated rematch of the Sept. 21 epic the Northstars rallied to win in five sets.
Weighed down by similar comebacks that didn’t work against Fayetteville-Manlius and Jamesville-DeWitt, the Northstars returned to the court last Wednesday and got a sweep of East Syracuse Minoa.
The 25-15, 25-14, 25-10 victory over the Spartans represented a return to traditional form for C-NS as Robbie Siechen produced 25 assists.
Up front, Gabe LaRobardiere led with 13 kills and two blocks, helped by Carter King, who got nine kills. Reece Congel earned eight kills and Joe Seliger had seven kills to go with his three aces.
Meanwhile, Liverpool went first against Baldwinsville and easily put together a 25-16, 25-11, 25-12 sweep over the Bees.
Nolan Feidt, earning 11 kills, 15 assists, three blocks and four digs, led an attack where Quinn Moore, Anthony Pezzino and Elliott DeForge each netted seven kills. DeForge and Pezzino had three aces apiece as Jackson Furr, again working on defense, recorded 16 digs.
Facing B’ville on Friday night, C-NS got its own sweep of the Bees by scores of 25-13, 25-10 and 25-20, with Zach D’Agostino earning seven assists to help Siechen (22 assists) on the back line.
Peter Gill led the front line with eight kills. Congel got six kills, with King adding five kills and Seliger four kills. LaRobardiere earned six blocks to go with his three kills and C.J. Cartier had seven digs.
