Already at 2-0 heading into the second week of December, the Solvay boys bowling team continued to pile up wins in matches at Strike-N-Spare Lanes.
The Bearcats blanked Altmar-Parish-Williamstown 3-0 last Monday afternoon, paced by Carter Lee, who shot a 215 game to close out a 570 series.
Ed Matysuk earned a 558 series with a 224 high game, while Ethan Bigelow had a 190 game to close a 536 set. Alex Gallardo earned a 490 series and Russ Tarbell had a three-game total of 441.
Meanwhile, the Solvay girls bowling team earned its first win of the season last Monday against APW, shutting out the Rebels 3-0 as Michalena Raymond led the way with a 423 series.
Caitlin McCann had a 154 game during her 413 series. Close behind her, Abigail Lee had a three-game total of 365, with Rebecca Ducey earning a 359 set and Kiyyasia Elien getting a 322 series.
Solvay’s boys made it four in a row Wednesday against Bishop Grimes, the 7-0 shutout including a 567 series from Bigelow that included back-to-back 201 games.
Matysuk shot a 202 during his 541 set as Alex Gallardo, with games of 188 and 181, put together a 523 series.
In the girls Bearcats’ 7-0 win over Grimes, Anastasia LaFlair led with a 480 series and high game of 172. McCann’s 174 game kicked off a 441 series as Lee contributed a 403 set.
West Genesee returned to action last Tuesday against Cortland at Solvay Recreation Alleys, and could not slow down the Purple Tigers, taking a pair of defeats.
The closer boys match had the Wildcats fall 2-1 to Cortland, with Richard Wituszynski shooting a 537 series and 201 high game as Bobby Bidwell (493 series) and Matt Halko (492 series) were close behind. Jake Keep, with a 529 series, and David Benjamin, with a 515 series, paced Cortland.
In the girls match, WG’s Lorelai Leskoske shot 178, 164 and 173 on her way to a 515 series. Gabbie Gardner added a 417 set as Cortland, who moved to 5-0, had Calista VanEpps shoot a 512 series and Autumn Wells add a 464 series
At Oswego on Thursday, WG’s girls picked up a point, but lost 2-1 as Leskoske managed a 475 series, closing with a 184 game. Gardner’s 338 trailed teammate Cassie Felicia by one pin.
The boys Wildcats had a 3-0 defeat to Oswego, who had five series of 508 or better, led by a 586 from Eric Carson. Wituszynski’s 215 game highlighted WG’s efforts.
