Coming off a seventh-place finish in the North Country Invitational on Dec. 14-15, the Jamesville-DeWitt/CBA wrestling team immediately resumed its winning form back among SCAC Empire division foes.
J-D/CBA went to Central Square last Wednesday night and prevailed 47-32, making a massive comeback after the Redhawks won five of the first six bouts on the card.
Amid that flurry of four Central Square pins and a decision (Ethan Wells losing 10-3 to Kole Mulhauser at 126 pounds), the Rams’ lone victory was a forfeit to Tyler Kellison at 132 pounds.
Things began to turn at 160 pounds, where Alikhan Abdullayev pinned Evan Emond in 97 seconds, quickly followed by Brandon Milham (170 pounds) pinning Nate Tassone early in the third period.

Then, when ESM paid a visit to Auburn last Wednesday night, the Spartans took a 42-24 defeat to the Maroons, a contrast to the success Fayetteville-Manlius had when it defeated Syracuse 42-30.
Continuing his strong run, the Hornets’ Braden Florczyk (126) pinned Ben Williams in 33 seconds, one of five different pins F-M achieved on this night.
At 220, Ben Tichi pinned Prophet Johnson in 97 seconds, with a string of falls starting at 160 when Ben Christopher finished off Albert Sippio in the last seconds of the second period.
Alex Dauksza won at 170 with an 86-second pin of Marion Martinez as Will Coley, wrestling at 182, waited until the third period to pin Carl Witherel. Leo Pieples (106) and Justin Bedell (152 pounds) claimed forfeits.
ESM, meanwhile, started well at Auburn, Conor Todd pinning Stephen Baier in the third period of the opener at 220 before Ameer Ladd (285) and Donovan Marriott (120) claimed forfeits.
For the rest of the night, though, the Spartans had just two wins, both close decisions as Alex Leo (138) edged Jamyr Grimes 9-6 and Aslan Abdulla (152) got past Alex Ansteth 5-4. Casey O’Donnell (145) lost, 10-6, to Ryan Bochenek as Ali Abdulla (170) had a 7-5 defeat to Lucas Hogan.
