On the first day of December, the Jamesville-DeWitt/CBA and East Syracuse Minoa wrestling team s each took part in the Morrisville-Eaton Duals and would go head-to-head.
The Rams won over the Spartans 65-15, though more than half of J-D/CBA’s points came from having ESM forfeit seven different bouts.
Five of the eight that were contested went in the Rams’ favor, including a 170-pound thriller where Shoh Alibekov edged Ali Abdulla 9-8 and Braeden Barcza (152 pounds) got a 5-3 decision over Michael O’Brien.
At 182 pounds, Muaweyah El-Hindi pinned Matt Lewis early in the third period, with Tyler Kellison (132 pounds) getting a 25-9 technical fall over Alex Leo and Alikhan Abdullayev (160 pounds) pinning Xavier Lowery in the second period.

Elsewhere at the M-E Duals, J-D/CBA held off Vernon-Verona-Sherrill 46-34, helped by three forfeits, but not clinching it until Enver Butalov (145 pounds) pinned Peter Macarchuk in 1:58 and Martinez topped Jaden Confer 16-4.
Routs over Cazenovia (70-15) and host Morrisville-Eaton (59-21) followed, but in the decisive match against Walton-Delhi, J-D/CBA lost 40-28, unable to win a bout from 113 to 145. Jackson Thomas (99 pounds) did beat Noah Sovocool 8-4 before William BeSeth (106 pounds) won 16-6 over Brock Mattice.
ESM did not win any of the four bouts. Cazenovia topped the Spartans 57-23, with M-E beating them 35-24 followed by defeats to Walton-Delhi (60-18) and VVS (55-18).
All of this was in the past when ESM had its Salt City Athletic Conference Empire division opener last Wednesday against Oswego, and the Spartans got a head-to-head win here, handling the Buccaneers 54-22.
Marriott got a forfeit before Dakota Allen, at 126 pounds, pinned Darwin Warner in 43 seconds as Leo gained a second-period fall over Wayne Earl to produce an early 18-0 lead.
Aslan Abdulla kept it going at 152, pinning Jacob Garcia early in the third period. Then ESM used four pins in five bouts to put Oswego away.
The surge began at 170 with Ali Abdulla’s third-period fall over Mason Cass. In 66 seconds, Lewis pinned Sebastian Foti, with Iziha Hayden stepping up at 195 pounds to pin Christian Kerfien in 61 seconds before Conor Todd (285 pounds) pinned Brayden Hardter in 1:51.
Meanwhile, J-D/CBA was hosting Auburn and rolling to a 52-22 win, though the Maroons won a majority of the contested bouts and lost because it had to forfeit seven times.
Early in the meet, Adam Laun, at 285, took 30 seconds to pin Jaden Dawley. Then the Rams didn’t win on the mat again until 132, when Kellison beat Luca Pirozzolo 9-1. Bulatov had a pin over Ryan Bochenek late in the first period.
