Hitting the heart of its schedule as the calendar turned to May, the Baldwinsville girls golf team earned its first win of the season last Tuesday against Cicero-North Syracuse’s Green team.
The Bees beat the Northstars 207-258 at Timber Banks, with Emma Brushingham leading the way as she posted a 46 for nine holes, just ahead of Morgan Dec, who finished with a 49.
Colleen Vredenburg also had a solid showing, with a 55, with Franny Naples shooting a 57. All of them were ahead of C-NS Green’s top golfer, Jessica Ricciardi, who had a 60.
Having broken a three-match skid, B’ville would go to Westvale Wednesday to face West Genesee, and in windy, warm conditions the Bees lost 210-215 to the Wildcats, who were led by Mikaela Riley’s 43 and Hannah Kirk’s 47.
It was windy on Friday, too, but B’ville managed to defeat Jamesville-DeWitt 195-225 as Dec went to the forefront, her 44 six shots ahead of the Red Rams’ low round by Lena Jones.
