Jessica Birdslow again led the way for the Solvay girls bowling team as it moved to 3-0 on the season last Thursday afternoon at Strike-N-Spare Lanes with a 5-2 victory over Bishop Grimes.
Birdslow shot a three-game total of 554, with a 197 high game. Caitlin McCann added a 387 series and Anastasia LaFlair added a 144 game as Raquel McDonald paced the Cobras with a 387 series.
Solvay, who had a match with CBA postponed earlier in the week, lost on the boys side to Grimes by that same 5-2 margin, though Dennis Mujcic put together a 508 series (179 high game) and Nate Gardner’s 185 game was part of a 503 set. Jordan Newman led the Cobras with a three-game aggregate of 514.
Meanwhile, West Genesee, after the snows postponed a home match with Fulton last Tuesday, took on East Syracuse Minoa two days later at Solvay Recreation Alley and could not get a point on either side.
The boys match, a 3-0 defeat, saw the Wildcats’ Ben Conroy again lead his side with a 551 series and 188 high game. Richard Wituszynski had a 486 series (199 high game) and Owen Bates contributed a 470 series and high game of 180.
Gina Neri bowled well for WG’s girls as her 197 game led to a 480 series. Maddy Lux had a 166 game during her 396 set as Katie Drogo’s 163 gamed helped in a 372 series. ESM’s Haley Youker shot a 553 series with a high game of 211.
