CICERO — The hit Netflix show “Bridgerton”, based on Julia Quinn’s historical romance series, is sweeping the nation, and fans are clamoring for more. The Regency bug has surely hit, and the Northern Onondaga Public Library (NOPL) is here to give you the “Bridgerton” experience and more.
If you haven’t seen the “Bridgerton” TV series because you don’t have Netflix, that’s not a problem. With your library card, you can borrow a Roku device. We provide the Roku, controller, a few wires, and instructions, and when you get home, all you have to do is connect to your Wifi. From there, this Roku device will display streaming apps, including NOPL’s Netflix subscription. Make some popcorn, or tea and cakes, and be ready to swoon.
When watching through “Bridgerton’s” eight episodes, it’s easy to fall in love with the dresses, breeches, balls, dancing, and music.
Top 40 listeners will recognize classical-style renditions of hit songs by modern artists like Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift. These songs, and more, are available for streaming and free download from Freegal, NOPL digital music resource.
And to not leave fans of romance novels forgotten, NOPL’s Adult Services Librarian and co-host of NOPL’s Raging Romantics Podcast and Between the Covers Book Club, Jacklyn Hoyt, writes up a list of Regency reads to keep the “Bridgerton” experience waltzing.
