Fayetteville residents will have the opportunity to provide input on the proposed Waterside Commons development at a public hearing scheduled for Aug. 17. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at village hall. The meeting will be held in person and the village also intends to livestream.
Different drafts of the plans have called the project Highbridge Commons, Waterside Commons, or Highbridge Waterside Commons.
The proposal is for a five-story building at the corner of Highbridge Street and East Genesee Street in the lower village. The developer has filed an application for a planned unit development (PUD), that must be approved by the board before construction can begin.
The first floor of the building would include space for several retailers or eateries. The four floors above would be apartments. The building would face East Genesee Street.
A parking lot with approximately 120 spaces wraps around the building with access points on both East Genesee and Highbridge.
