Cornell Cooperative Extension of Madison County is hosting a tractor safety course for homeowners and farmers interested in learning how to operate their tractors, snowblowers, lawnmowers and chainsaws more safely.
The New York Center for Agricultural Health and Medicine will provide information on safely operating equipment and will then walk participants through safe operation using tractors and other equipment at Cazenovia Equipment. A few items to be discussed will be the importance of the ROPS (Roll Over Protection System), utilizing PTO shields, as well as properly backing and hitching equipment.
The course will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Cazenovia Equipment Company, 2 Remington Park Drive, Cazenovia. The cost is $10 and includes dinner for the evening.
