Katharyn Emily Vogl and Samuel Barton Orvis were married on August 5, 2017 at Saint James Church in Cazenovia. David McCallum SJ, of Lemoyne College officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Patrick and Laura Vogl of Cazenovia. The groom is the son of Curtis and Lynn Orvis of Middlebury, Vt., and Bonita Springs, Fla.
The bride’s sister, Jillian Vogl, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Clare Orvis and Judy Orvis, sisters of the groom, Christine Heymann, cousin of the bride, Sarah Thabet, Morgan Shattuck and Audrey Feci, friends of the bride.
Spencer Shumway, friend of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Andrew Vogl, brother of the bride, Ross Yager, cousin of the groom, and friends of the groom Nick Rouzier, Ian Fay, Gabe Gladstone and Javed Basu-Kesselman.
Flower girls were Gianna Runza, cousin of the bride, and Isabella Thomas, cousin of the groom. The ring bearer was Joseph Runza, cousin of the bride.
The reception was held at the Lincklaen House and the rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom’s parents, was held at the Cazenovia Club.
Katharyn and Samuel met at Western New England University where Katharyn earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing and Samuel earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Katharyn earned an MBA from Champlain College and is currently employed as a senior product manager at New Chapter, Inc. Samuel is a manufacturing engineer at the Orvis Company.
The couple honeymooned in Switzerland and reside in Manchester, Vt.
