Rickey and Mary Pat Paice will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary June 9, 2023.
The couple married in 1973 at Our Lady of Peace church in Lakeland, N.Y., and honeymooned in Montreal, Canada, and Alexandria Bay, N.Y. They have lived happily in Baldwinsville throughout their lives.
Prior to their marriage, the couple started “going steady” Nov. 22, 1968. They celebrate this special occasion each year. Growing up, they lived in the same neighborhood and often tell the story that he was her paperboy and she was his cheerleader. It has been a long and sweet love story.
Mrs. Paice is the former Mary Pat Roe, and the daughter of Jack Roe and Ann (Meagher) Roe. A graduate of Baker High School and SUNY Cobleskill, Mary Pat retired from teaching in 2018 and was always known as the teacher who would hug and comfort her students.
Mr. Paice is the son of Lawrence Paice and Catherine (Calcarame) Paice. Rick, also a graduate of Baker High School, attended Fulton Montgomery College in Johnstown, N.Y., and has enjoyed a successful, decades-long career in the furniture business, including owning his own design firm. He has yet to fully retire but always makes time to golf and boat with friends and family.
The Paice family will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with their son, Robert Paice; daughter, Kathleen Paice Froio; son-in-law, Robert Froio; grandchildren, Magnolia Paice and Ava, Cory, and Breanna Froio; and a large extended family including their beloved siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
If you have ever crossed paths with Rick or Mary Pat, even briefly, you know how special they are to us. We wish our parents a brilliant and joyful 50th wedding anniversary celebration!
