On Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate and encourage giving. Anyone, anywhere can get involved in #GivingTuesday and give back in a way that is meaningful to them. From fundraising to volunteering to pro-bono service, #GivingTuesday is a great way to engage your community and to become a part of a larger worldwide movement that promotes generosity.
Throughout the month of November leading up to and including #GivingTuesday, OHA we will be by raising funds for educational programming and exhibits at the Skä·noñh – Great Law Peace Center, formerly the Saint Marie Among the Iroquois, in Liverpool.
The Skä·noñh – Great Law of Peace Center presents the authentic voice of the Haudenosaunee through their Oral History tradition. The Skä·noñh Center encompasses the spirit of #GivingTuesday and teaches the practice of Thanksgiving, the importance of gratitude, and the knowledge that we are not alone, but dependent on one another and the world around us.
We are asking the community to join us this November to support the Skä·noñh Center and help us continue to share the stories of the Haudenosaunee to teach everyone to respect the whole universe we live in.
