To the editor:
I congratulate the many well informed voters from the village of Manlius on their choice to re-elect Mayor Paul Whorrall, and on his overwhelming defeat of Mark-Paul Serafin. Although Mr. Serafin attempted to steal the election by writing four letters to the Eagle Bulletin, he obviously failed to convince the voters with his writing skills in Bovine Scatology, in short, a more sanitized form of BS. Back in 2013 he gathered a paltry 198 votes in his defeat during his first attempt to unseat Mr. Whorrall, and this time around he collected only a mere 119 votes. This trend does not bode well for Mr. Serafin.
In his rebuttal of my letter of March 8, Mr. Serafin shot himself in the foot by openly admitting to charges of thievery, but fell short of telling the truth that he pleaded guilty to breaking the law and subsequently paid a fine for his misgivings.
Another shameful position in Mr. Serafin’s letter of March 15 was that he blatantly distorted the facts concerning the reprimand that he received from the village board. To set the record straight, the village board cited that during Mayor Serafin’s first term in office he managed to violate the village code of ethics on numerous occasions. Furthermore, the board stated that “as an elected official, Mr. Serafin pursued a code of conduct that raised suspicions among the public.” That reprimand sounds much different than the BS that Mr. Serafin writes in his letter.
To the voters in the village that saw through Mr. Serafin’s “fake news” epistles, brace yourselves for another one of his “tear jerker” farewell responses.
