SALINA — Take a look at Salina Library’s fun and free events for adults, kids and teens during the month of July:
Activities for adults
Adult Summer Library Program
July through Aug. 9
Pick up a packet at the library during regular hours. You’ll earn raffle tickets by borrowing books, movies, and music in the library or online. More tickets can be earned by completing activities. There are weekly prizes and grand prizes.
One-on-One Technology Help
10:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays; 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesdays
Do you need help getting around your laptop or tablet? Would you like to set up an email account? Do you want to download an e-book? Need help searching for and applying for jobs? One-on-one technology help appointments are now available. Appointments last up to 1 hour. Registration is required. Masks are required. This program is supported with federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds allocated to the New York State Library by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).
Mah Jongg Club
12 p.m. Tuesdays
Players of all experience levels are welcome to join. We play by National Mah Jongg League rules.
Fika
3 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday
Take a cue from the Swedes and enjoy Fika at Salina Library. Make time to pause and refresh, to socialize and energize. Bring a friend or chat with someone new.
Crochet Class: Shell Heart Necklace

Crochet a summery necklace. Bring an F hook. Registration is required.
Concertina Books with Suzanne Masters

Create a visual storyline and the words will come later. An easy way to create your own story. Registration is required.
Salina Trail Walkers: Wizard of Oz Memorial Oak Grove
9 a.m. Saturday, July 9; rain date July 23
Park at the North Syracuse Junior High School lot on the right near the ball field. Look for the car with the blue flag. Bring bug spray. The walk is about ½ mile.

Cornhole

Meet up for an evening of playing cornhole, a popular bean bag toss game. For adults of all skill levels.

Weekly story time for ages 3-6 with stories, rhymes, and songs. For added fun, pick up a monthly Story Time kit, with activities to match our weekly themes. We will be meeting outside, weather permitting. Families/groups are requested to bring a beach towel or picnic blanket.

Meet Captain Jack and learn to talk like a pirate — ARRR! Captain Jack, aka Rick Martinez, has published several children’s books and will share his stories and answer pirate questions. Oceans of Possibilities with the MOST

Join the MOST in exploring marine habitats and species. Discover the diversity of ocean life and the effects of climate change on animal ecosystems through hands-on samples and live science demonstrations with a MOST Science Educator.
