Starting Monday, June 8, the Northern Onondaga Public Library will begin the first stage of their reopening plan by offering curbside holds pickup and virtual/telephone reference services at all three of its branches — Brewerton, Cicero and North Syracuse.
Curbside holds pickup starts when you put items on hold, either by calling the library or by using the catalog on the library’s website. When your items are ready for pickup, you will receive a notification by phone or email. Next, you need to call the library to schedule a date and time to pick up your library materials. When you arrive at the library, call to let them know you have arrived and staff will be out shortly to deliver your items right to your vehicle.
Items that are being returned should be placed directly in the book drop. Due dates on all items have been extended to July 1, so please don’t rush to return materials. Items that are returned, however, will be quarantined for seven days.
Virtual/telephone reference will also be available. This service puts you in touch with a NOPL librarian who can offer book and author recommendations, answer questions related to the library’s digital services, and assist you with research questions or other inquiries. Speak with a librarian by calling the libraries’ regular telephone numbers, or email [email protected].
The aforementioned services will be available during open hours, which have been temporarily adjusted. You can find the current hours on the library’s website, nopl.org.
