BALDWINSVILLE SCHOOLS – On Thursday, April 20, at 7 p.m. in the Baker High School auditorium, six former students and staff members of the Baldwinsville Central School District will become honorary members of the newly formed Baldwinsville Community Hall of Fame for Visual and Performing Arts.
The organization has been in the making for over the past three years and board members are excited that these six nominees including Jay Ashby, Frank Cammuso, James Kryshak, Gina Lamparella, Evelyn Mercer and Norm Wanzer, will soon receive their commendations.
One nominated member, Wanzer, was surprised when he was notified of this honor.
When asked what it meant to him, Wanzer said, “people remember me.”
During his time in the district, Wanzer’s goals were to “make a music department a place students could be proud of and give them skills they could use for the rest of their lives.”
And he indeed he did just that, as one of the nominees, Ashby, was a former student of Wanzer.
The ceremony is open to the public.
The board hopes the community members who are familiar with the talents of these individuals will join the celebration April 20.
