The Fayetteville-Manlius Central School District was recently named the fourth best district to teach at in Upstate New York, according to new rankings from Niche.com.
Niche.com recently released the top 35 best schools to teach at in Upstate New York, with ranking factors including teacher salaries, teacher tenure, student-teacher ratio and more.
The district is currently ranked as the 23rd best school in the state and has an average graduation rate of 96 percent, according to Niche.com. Nationally, the district’s teachers are ranked as the 94th best in the nation, out of 11,705 districts.
The district is considered the best for teaching in both Syracuse and Onondaga County.
The average salary for an F-M teacher is $73,292 with a student-teacher ratio of 13 to one. There are 4,174 students currently enrolled at the district.
Additionally, all three of the district’s elementary schools were recently named among the best in public elementary education by the website.
The Fayetteville-Manlius elementary schools are among the 30 best elementary schools in Upstate New York — and the only Onondaga County schools on the list — with Enders Road ranked at number four, Fayetteville Elementary at number nine and Mott Road at number 14. The schools’ statewide rankings are 47, 73 and 103, respectively.
“We are pleased to be regarded so highly when compared to districts statewide,” Superintendent Craig J. Tice said in a recent press release. “Recognitions such as this are due to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved with the school district, from the students themselves and their families to district staff and faculty, as well as the community at large.”
