The East Syracuse Minoa Spartan Stage will present “CHESS: In Concert” at 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, May 18 and 19 in the ESM Central High School auditorium, 6400 Fremont Road, East Syracuse.
This is a concert version of the musical, which includes a light set, costumes, props and staging. The musical Chess (UK Edition) was a smash hit for Benny Anderson, Bjorn Ulvaeus and Tim Rice. The music, including 1980s chart-topper, “One Night in Bankok” has been hailed as “one of the best rock scores ever produced.”
Spartan Stage is excited to perform this thrilling piece that is set around the world during the World Chess Championships and pits rival nations against each other during the tumultuous last years of the Cold War.
Tickets are $9 for reserved seating and can be purchased at esmchs.booktix.com. For more information on purchasing tickets, please see a member of Spartan Stage or call 315-434-3377. All proceeds will benefit future Spartan Stage activities.
