It is with great sadness that we announce Jennifer Nicole (Stamper) Fish, 35, of DeRuyter, left this world unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. She was born July 13, 1986 in Fort Benning, GA, the daughter of James Stamper and Cindy (Oursler) Olmstead. Jennifer grew up in DeRuyter where she graduated high school in 2006. She was a graduate of Herkimer Community College with an associate’s degree in human services and was an employee with the United States Postal Service. Jennifer was also a home painter for Oursler’s Drywall.
Jennifer was a selfless, loving and compassionate person who loved helping others. She had the most beautiful soul and could light up a room with her energy. Jennifer loved her dogs Lil Jack and Lily, being outdoors, riding ATV’s and spending time with friends; she was the life of the party.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Fish; grandmother Ila Jean Stamper; mother, Cindy Olmstead; father, Mark Olmstead; biological father, James Stamper; sisters, Carissa Clark, Samantha Stamper and Amanda Heck; niece, Ariella Smith; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Jennifer was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Naomi Oursler and by her grandfather, Robert Stamper.
We will always remember her infectious laugh, piercing blue eyes and caring personality. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
