Lonnie Diane (Holmes) Davis passed away unexpectedly, but quietly in her sleep on Sept. 5, 2021, at the age of 75. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.
Lonnie was born in Syracuse on Jan. 7, 1946. She was the oldest of four children, living a very happy childhood in New Woodstock, N.Y. As an adult she was always sharing childhood stories of drinking milk right from the cows, playing in the hay mow and building tunnels in the snow. Growing up and throughout her life she spent a lot of time at the family camp – many happy memories.
Throughout her adult life Lonnie loved decorating her house for every holiday. She was well known for having decorations that sang or played music. Lonnie was happiest when she was spending time playing games with her family. And anyone who knew her could easily find the perfect gift if it had a cow on it. She was very accomplished at putting together puzzles, completing several every year. She also loved gardening and travel. One of her favorite types of vacations was going on different cruises with her late husband, Roger, and family.
At the age of 50 Lonnie graduated from Genesee Community College with straight As. She obtained a degree as an OT assistant and worked helping people for many years.
A service of remembrance, followed by a luncheon will be held on Oct. 2, 2021 at noon at the Craftsman Inn, 7300 E Genesee Street, Fayetteville, N.Y.
