Lucille A. Conway, 89, of Manlius, died peacefully at home on May 31, 2020, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 28, 1931, in New York City and grew up in Queens, N.Y. Lucille graduated from Forest Hills High School and attended the Katharine Gibbs School in New York City.
She first worked at Dumont Television in Manhattan and then went on to work in various office jobs. She and her husband John have lived in CNY since 1960. She loved Central New York as a wonderful place to raise a family.
Lucille was a member of St Ann’s Catholic Church in Manlius. Her interests included volunteering for the Syracuse Symphony, coaching girls softball, working with the Cherry Manor Garden Club and Pre Cana coaching for engaged couples.
She and her husband, John, were high school sweethearts and were married on Jan. 31, 1954. They enjoyed many trips to Europe.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, John; four children, Christine Ventre (Anthony), John T. Conway (Jean), Laura Conway (John) and Mark Conway, MD (Liz); six grandchildren, Kathleen, Alexander, Andrea, Liam, Patrick and Maggie; and one great-granddaughter, Nevena. She was predeceased by her sister Jean Meeder.
A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
