Bryant A.L. Lewis, Jr., 85, of Erieville, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016, at the Syracuse V.A. Medical Center. He was born in Ossining, N.Y., a son to the late Bryant A.L. and Eugenie Geotz Lewis, Sr. He graduated from North Tarrytown High School in 1949 then graduated from Farmingdale Institute of Agriculture in 1952. Bryant was an Army veteran of the Korean War where he was stationed in Japan. He worked as a maintenance supervisor with Anheuser Busch until his retirement in 1993. During his retirement, Bryant and his wife enjoyed traveling both here and abroad. He also enjoyed farming, beekeeping and making maple syrup. He was a proud member of the Farmingdale Alumni Association and the National Rifle Association. Above all, his true joys in life were his family and his farm.
Bryant is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy N. Lewis of Erieville; their three children, Bryant A.L. (Elizabeth) Lewis III of Merrimack, NH, Jeffrey D. (Sara) Lewis of Florida and Dorothy Louise (Michael) Shue of Sherrill; his five grandchildren who adored their “Papa” and three great-grandchildren.
