Hannah Rose Sollecito died April 28, 2016. Born Sept 11, 1989, Hannah was a proud alumni of Van Buren Elementary and spelling bee champion. She graduated in the Baker’s dozen at Baldwinsville Central School where she was an all-state trumpeter. Hannah was a Presidential Research Scholar at Cornell University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in 2011 with a focus on women’s equality studies. She was a Kappa Delta sister and a proud member of the Cornell Big Red Marching Band. Hannah worked as senior administrative assistant for development at Planned Parenthood of Central and Western New York. A world traveler fluent in French, Hannah explored multiple foreign countries in Europe, Africa, Asia and North and Central America.
She made friends easily and kept them. Hannah loved more deeply because she had more room in her heart. From the minute she was born Hannah Rose was a bundle of love. To our constant delight she couldn’t and wouldn’t contain her affection. She was a certified SCUBA diver, an ordained minister and a crack shot with a target rifle. She loved bonfires by the pond at her family farm and every one of her dogs throughout her too-short 26 years. The most precious and beautiful flower in the garden is picked first and in our garden that flower was our beloved Hannah.
Hannah is survived by her parents James and Megan, her sister Rachel, grandmother Louise Sollecito, grandparents Fred and Beverly Cree and a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. In celebration of her life, please enjoy a dish of your favorite ice cream.
