County Executive Ryan McMahon recently announced the winners of the fourth annual Onondaga County/Syracuse City Parks Winter Photo Contest.
The contest ran from Jan. 1 to 31 and invited the community to submit photos taken throughout the month at any county or city park.
Pictures could be submitted for judging in five categories: Best Action, Best Portrait, Best Winter Scene, Most Artistic and Junior Photographer for those between the ages of five and seventeen.
New this year were two additional categories: the People’s Choice category and County Executive’s Favorite category.
“It is no secret that Onondaga County is a beautiful place to live, even during the cold winter months that sometimes seem to never end and the winners of our photo contest have proven just that,” McMahon said. “Thank you to all those who braved the elements to show how truly picturesque our community is and I encourage everyone to continue to take advantage of all of our parks.”
Over $2,000 in prizes were donated from the following: Syracuse Mets, 110 Grill at Destiny USA, PB&J’s “Streetside” Cafe in Liverpool, Dunkin’, Bull & Bear Roadhouse & Catering, Ziebart of Syracuse, Galaxy Media, Syracuse City Parks and Onondaga County Parks.
