Find Skaneateles Lake Data on a New Website; skanlakeinfo.org
Did you know that the Skaneateles lake temperature is 10 degrees warmer this week than it was at the same time last year?
Did you know that the lake level is 2 feet lower than last year?
This information is available on a new website – skanlakeinfo.org. The website was created through a cooperative partnership with the municipalities around the lake, the City of Syracuse and the Cornell Cooperative Extension.
The City of Syracuse, the Town and Village of Skaneateles along with the other lake towns came together about a year ago for the purpose of finding common ground and working together. All agreed that we needed a central site where residents could get information about what’s happening on the lake.
One shared concern was finding out about Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs). Right at the top of the web page is a button for HAB Information and Education. You can easily report a bloom or find out where blooms have been reported.
The site also includes information on: watershed rules and regulations; boating; agriculture; soil and erosion control; septic systems; wells; landscaping; timber harvesting; and city watershed programs.
