Marcellus seniors honored
Five Marcellus High School seniors have received honors in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program.
The students were recognized for their exceptional academic talent and were selected from a pool of more than 1.5 million students.
“I am so very proud of these students,” Marcellus High School Principal John Durkee said. “I could not think of a finer group of students to represent Marcellus Senior High School on the national stage.”
Senior Ryan Moses was selected as one of 16,000 students to be named a National Merit Scholarship Semi-Finalist in the 66th National Merit Scholarship Program. His outstanding academic success has given him the opportunity to compete for one of 7,600 National Merit Scholarships, totaling more than $30 million.
Seniors Jaiden Capozzi, Ethan Ciota, Connor Novak and Benjamin Watling were named Commended Students for their success on the 2019 Preliminary SAT/National Scholarship Qualifying Test. Commended Students are recognized for having placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.5 million students who took the test.
